Our Perth based Audit experts have been supporting Karara Mining in achieving Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) Ministerial Statement Audits across their three Project sites;

  • Karara Iron Ore Project,
  • Mungada Iron Ore Project, and
  • Hinge Iron Ore Project.

The purpose of the audit is to demonstrate the level of compliance against the Ministerial Statement and ensure legal obligations are being adhered to prevent detrimental impact to the environment.

The Ministerial Statements contain legally binding conditions of approval issued under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA) relevant to each Project phase – construction, operation, and closure.

The key benefit of an audit is to demonstrate areas where clients are going beyond compliance in a proactive fashion as opposed to doing the minimum to meet compliance.

Sustainability is a leading service provider in Auditing for compliance and best practise certification. Sustainability also offer Lead Auditor Training with an additional Environmental and Health and Safety focus.

Karara is the largest mining operation in the Mid-West region and one of only two operating magnetite mines in WA. The mine is located 220 kilometers south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori.
